Cute Date Night Outfits for Spring & Summer

As soon as the weather warms up, I am ready to get out and socialize. I am ready to see friends and family and have a much busier social life. It is also lighter so much longer in the evenings so I find myself wanting to do something after work more often than just going home. It is nice to get out, maybe hang out on a patio or just spend time outside! What is also more fun in the warmer weather is date night! There are so many fun activities to do. It is also a great time to try different looks! In this post, I am sharing fun, stylish, and cute date night outfits for all types of spring activities.

Cute Date Night Outfits for Spring

All of these outfit ideas are about outfit formulas. An outfit formula is a combination of clothing items that make a great look! Having a few outfit combos that you love are helpful when you aren’t sure what to wear or need to create an outfit quickly. You can interchange the same type of pieces to create a ton of combinations so you won’t feel like you are wearing the same thing over and over. If you like a certain top or skirt etc finding outfit combinations that work with those pieces will help you make the most of your wardrobe.

Crop Top & Jeans

You may read this outfit combination and immediately want to scroll on by. Well I’m here to tell you that you don’t need to be scared of a crop top! They are everywhere right now and I think everyone can make them work. You don’t have to show midriff with a crop top if you don’t want to. The crop trop trend is more about the proportions than actually showing a lot of skin. Pair the shorter top with a high waisted bottom and you still get the trend without baring much.

For a cute spring date outfit idea style a crop top with denim. It is classic and always cute for spring summer. I love this look for a more casual date, even a day date. It would be cute for a casual dinner, brunch or daytime activities. When it gets too hot for jeans you can switch out the outfit for denim shorts.

Shorts & Blazer

Blazers are a great piece when you need a spring date night outfit idea. If you are worried they are too heavy, focus on blazers made of light spring fabrics. Linen and light cotton are great options. Blazers also don’t have to be in the traditional “business” colors like black and blue or even in neutral colors. I have a light pink blazer and it is the one I wear the most.

For a spring or summer date, style your blazers with shorts. You can juxtapose the dress blazer with casual denim for a more casual date night. A casual dinner or even a date during the day would be so cute for a date. Change up the material of the shorts to dress up the look. Matching sets are also a really big trend for Spring Summer!

In regards to what to wear under a blazer, you can have a lot of fun with it. For casual looks, a graphic tee or basic blouse look really cute. You can mix it up with contrasting colors or prints. Style a neutral blazer with a brightly colored t-shirt or vice versa. For a more sexy or flirty look, a little cami or even a lacey bra can be really cute. The top kind of peek a boos under the blazer so you are still covered.

Strapless/Off the Shoulder Top & Trousers

Trousers have come back in the past year as a big trend. They aren’t just for the office, they are definitely chic enough for a night out. While they come in all shapes, I especially love the wide leg cut. They feel more effortless and are comfortable for the summer weather.

For a date night outfit, pair trousers with a strapless or off the shoulder top. The bit of skin shown takes the trousers out of the office and into evening. To find balance in the outfit make sure either the top or bottom are fitted. For example pair wide leg trousers with a fitted top and a heeled sandal. You’ll feel comfortable and a little sexy. Colored Slip Dress & Flat Sandals

Slip dresses aren’t something you may immediately think about when you think Spring & Summer style. But in the right fabric and colors they are great for the warm months. Think light fabrics and bright or pastel colors. Slip dresses are great because they are flattering on everyone! They are fitted but not tight and help give an hourglass figure. They make a great date night outfit because they are effortlessly sexy and such a great item for date night.

Whether you like maxi, midi or mini skirt length a slip dress is great for an evening date. Whether it’s a nice patio or restaurant its a cute spring and summer look. While you can definitely pair it with heeled sandal (see here) I like them with flat sandals. It gives a bit more of a casual, cool vibe. Keep the look simple with some statement earrings and you’re done!
