Figuring out what to pack for a trip can be overwhelming. It may be hard to know even where to start. A little bit of planning can go a long way to alleviate some of the stress. Start with planning a few outfits you want to wear. Make sure to use items that you can mix and match so you have more options. In today’s post, I am sharing what to pack for a trip to Scottsdale.
What to Pack for a Trip to Scottsdale

A few weeks ago, I was in Scottsdale with my family. We rented an air bnb and just spent our time relaxing, shopping and enjoying the pool. For this trip, I wanted easy, comfortable outfits that worked well for warm weather.
Dresses
The first items I picked out were a few dresses. Dresses are great to pack because they are a full outfit with one item and can go from day to night with just a change of accessories. This tiered dress midi length dress comes in several colors. It is a great option to wear with flats for a day of shopping or sight seeing. I also packed this ruffled dress because it makes a bit of a statement. It is a fun option to dress up for brunch! An athleisure dress can serve several purposes. The dress works well as a travel outfit but also a cute options to work out in or just go on a walk in. If you are planning any nice dinners, you can throw in one more elegant dress to wear. A great slip dress is always a good option for evening.
Bottoms
White linen pants are really the MVP for a warm weather trip. Wear them one day as a cover up. You can easily go from the pool to lunch without having to completely change. At night, wear them with a ruffled top or even the matching crop top for a cute dinner look. Beyond their versatility, they are really comfortable and don’t we all ultimately want to be really comfortable when we travel? For my day at the spa, I wore the linen pants with a bralette and button down top.
Jean shorts are a no brainer for any warm weather trip. Find a pair that is comfortable and fit you well. They are another item that can be a swim cover up but also look great with any tops you bring.
Swimwear
When I pack swimwear, I like to have at least a one piece and a bikini option. This way I have different options and can go with whatever makes me the most comfortable that day. As far as cover ups go, I only pack one true cover up because some of the other pieces I pack also work as a cover up. I love a classic oversized button up shirt. They can be worn alone as a dress over a swimsuit or pair with shorts or pants when you want to really be covered up.
Shoes
Shoes can be one of the hardest things to decide on. I like to be prepared but they take up so much room that I don’t want to take too many. So I stuck with neutral pairs. I wore trendy tennis shoes on the plane so they didn’t take up much room. A cute pair of flat sandals work poolside and great for shopping or anything else during the day. Since I didn’t actually need any really dressy shoes, I compromised by packing some platform sandals. They feel fun enough for the night but were still really comfortable.
