I love rounding up my favorite purchases! The only criteria I have for making this list is it is something I would buy again and something I have been really excited about. So nothing too scientific. And I find that when you are really excited about something, others will be too! So today I am sharing my top purchases from the last few months.
Top Purchases Vol 6

Fenty Beauty Pro Filter Instant Retouch Setting Powder
This purchase was one of those impulse purchases that happen when I spend too much time in Ulta. I wanted to try something from Rihanna’s Fenty line because I’ve heard such great things! After the first use, I loved this setting powder! It somehow blurs your complexion and really looks like you have a filter on. I find that I use less foundation when I’m wearing my makeup because this setting powder really does a lot of the work!
It doesn’t take a lot of product to see a difference. I start by applying my foundation and concealer. Then, using a fluffy brush I apply a lighter layer of the Fenty Filter setting powder. If needed, I’ll sometimes use a small fluffy brush and apply a little more to my under eyes. And then you are done!
Donna Karen Cashmere Mist Deodorant
So I’ve been using a more natural deodorant for years. While I love it, during the super hot Oklahoma Summer months, it really doesn’t cut it. For years, I’ve heard that this Cashmere Mist Deodorant is a cult favorite. I was always skeptical to try because it’s $30 for a deodorant. I finally caved and tried it last month! And WOW!! I get it now. It really keeps you so dry. It has a subtle smell that I actually love but it isn’t strong enough to mix with your perfume.
High Waist Wide Leg Pants
Wide leg pants and trousers have become a big trend lately. I’ve been on the search for a cute pair that I could wear to work but also would wear to dinner etc. This pair from amazon hits all the qualifications. The waistline is flattering, the leg is wide but not overwhelming and the length works for both heels and flats!
Exfoliating Mitt
When I say everyone needs this, I mean it. For under $10 you can get the absolute best body exfoliation! I’m not sure what kind of magic this exfoliating mitt holds but it gets all of the rough dry skin off your body. More than you even knew you had. What I especially love is that it scrubs spray tan off! It is especially great for those last few areas of tan that won’t budge after everything else has faded.
Emily McCarthy Frankie Dress
Emily McCarthy is a new to me brand that I discovered when I was in Savannah. The brand has a lot of fun colorful pieces! I bought this Frankie dress on my fist day in Savannah and loved it so much I ended up wearing it to the blogging conference the next day. The puff sleeves are what make it so special. They are fun and make a statement without overwhelming your body. I love that while it is dress, it can be worn with heels, flats and even cute tennis shoes.
Good American Denim Jumpsuit
I have looked for a denim jumpsuit for a few years and had a few failures until I found this one! Good American denim has really perfected the right amount of stretch. And the stretch is what makes this jumpsuit so good! Along with the cut of the jumpsuit, the stretch helps it fit perfectly to your body. The denim is also thick enough that it smooths and shapes your body well.
Good American Classic Stretch Jeans
I basically fell in love with Good American the last few months! These jeans were the first pair of non skinny jeans I’ve bought in years. They have a nice straight cut but still slightly fitted around the butt and thighs. A great classic pair of jeans that I know I’ll have for years. I’ve started wearing them more than my skinny jeans!
Abercrombie Twill Shorts
These Twill shorts are honestly a little preppy for my normal style but I love them. They are fitted at the waist but then more flowy around the leg. The pleating still keeps them refined. I first paired them with this flowy crop top for a cocktail hour. Since they are high waisted, you still don’t show much skin with a crop top. They also look really cute with a tank or graphic t-shirt tucked in.
Loeffler Randall Crystal Embellished Headband
I LOVE HEADBANDS! And Crystal Embellished one is now my absolute favorite. It is so fun for a special night out because it makes such a statement. I’ve worn it with other sparkly pieces because more is more sometimes! On the other hand, it also looks super cute with neutral basics. It elevates a denim and white t-shirt so much that I wore that outfit to get drinks one evening.
Silicone Heat Resistant Mat
A silicone mat is a practical item but so helpful. If you use any kind of hot tool this will save you. It protects all surfaces from the heat and even has a pocket you can put it into to pack away while it is still hot. I use it almost daily!
