While my mood is definitely Fall, the weather is only slightly cooperating. I really need full on 70’s but I’ll take any escape from the heat. This time of year can be a really hard to dress for. In today’s post I am sharing Summer to Fall Wardrobe Transition Tips.
Summer to Fall Wardrobe Transition
Transition Your Color Palette
If it is too warm to wear Fall clothes, focus on Fall colors. Add a darker color to an outfit as well as anything in the Fall color palette. Think dark greens, mustard, burgundy and navy when putting together an outfit. This will make an outfit feel a bit moodier and Fall ready.
Switch your fabrics
Think about your fabric choices when putting together an outfit. Still warm enough for shorts? Instead of linen or light cotton think leather, corduroy and other heavier fabrics. For tops and tanks, switch out a light top for a heaver knit.
Think Light Layers
Since the temps can really change throughout the day, think about light layers. Think cardigans, denim jackets and blazers as easy items to layer over summer pieces like dresses and short sleeve tops. You can easily take them off if the day warms up too much.
Consider Your Shoe Choice
Transitioning from sandals to a close toe shoe can transition a look easily! Think about swapping your sandals for ballet flats and loafers. This simple swap will make even the most summery items feel more Fall ready!
