Sling bag, fanny pack, belt bag… whatever you call it, I’m sure you have seen them everywhere the past few years. The classic fanny pack has come a long way from the plastic like ones that were worn on vacation in the 80’s. They now come in lots of chic shapes and materials. They have been on trend for years now but I didn’t know if I would ever try it until I saw Senreve’s version of the belt bag. After having it for a few months I’ve put together a review of the Senreve Belt Bag.
I have been a big fan of Senreve bags for quite awhile but hadn’t bought one until this Aria Belt Bag. They are quality leather and vegan bags in some of the prettiest designs. They have several pieces to that have mixed materials including micro suede. Somehow their designs feel modern and timeless at the same time. What I mean by that is that each item feels current and on trend. At the same time the bags will be in style forever. Since they are a bit of a splurge it is important to me to get lots of use out of them and for them to stay in style. Classic items are the best ones to invest in.
Senreve Aria Belt Bag Review
Size & Material
First and foremost, I have to talk about the leather of the Aria Belt Bag. It comes in 8 different materials and over 50 colors. There are real and vegan leather options. The vegan leather has been developed to look and feel as close to real leather as possible. There are even two leather and micro suede options. The bag is 8″ x 5″ x 2″ with a removable 38.25″- 59.5″ removable strap.
I went with the chestnut pebbled leather. The pebbled leather is long lasting, stain and scratch-resistant. And the chestnut color is the prettiest seasonless color. Honestly, it coordinates with every color in your wardrobe! I have worn it all summer with denim shorts and dresses but know it will look great with my Fall and Winter wardrobe. I am excited it to style it with jewel tones and winter white.
Belt Bag Fit
Next is the real test, how is it as a belt bag? The leather strap works exactly like a belt with a dozen belt holes to customize the length. I’ve worn it as a belt bag over dresses and with jeans and it is so cute! Since there are so many options on length it is easy to get it to sit exactly where you want on you. This helps with customizing it to the outfit. The different options allow you to convert from wearing it high or low waisted. It also can be let out a bit when you wear a thicker item.
As a purse, this bag holds the necessities. It holds my phone, keys, card case (like this one), sunglasses and a couple lip glosses. It’s a great travel or errands purse so I like how small it is.
Versatility
While I bought it to wear as a belt bag, I actually wear the Senreve Aria Belt Bag across my body a lot. I didn’t think I would like it this way because of my large chest, but it’s actually really cute. Another option I love is as a clutch. This was the only purse I brought on my recent vacation and at night I would take off the strap and had the perfect size clutch to carry.
Another option to do is to use it as a shoulder bag. I haven’t done this yet but you can put the belt under the flap or put a chain strap thru the loops and carry as a shoulder bag. Senreve sells some of the cutest chain straps With all these options I use this bag way more than I expected when I bought it.
How to Style it
I bought this bag specifically because it can be worn with dressier outfits but in the right instances, it can also go casual. Just think of it the same way you think of a belt when building an outfit. Belt a sundress or voluminous dress to create shape and add a waist. It also works with denim and a white tee like in the photos below. As the Fall and Winter have hit, I’ve switched from sundresses to sweater dresses.
A classic fanny pack was typically worn with casual outfits and the Senreve Aria bag can too. For a post gym or travel look, put together black leggings, a black crop sports bra, denim jacket and tennis shoes. This is one of those outfit formulas that can changed up a dozen ways.
Is the Senreve Aria Belt Bag Worth It?
While the Aria belt bag is a splurge, it’s become a staple for my weekend travel wardrobe. I like having one purse that works day to night when I travel and is just big enough for the essentials. I love it and have no regrets with the purchase. The extra bonus is it’s versatility!
