Most of us don’t have a lot of time to get ready every morning. Even if we did, a quick make up routine saves us time for more important things, like sleep! On a daily basis, I want to look put together and polished while highlighting my features. After some trial and error I have come up with what works for me and gets me out the door quick. So today I am sharing a quick daily make up routine!
Quick Daily Make Up Routine
This quick make up routine is a natural, pretty look perfect for work or just any day you want to look polished. This easy make up routine focus on a fresh even face, with a little bit of definition on my eyes and lips. While I have given my step-by step process, you can easily modify and make this routine work for you.
Face
As the end of my skincare routine/beginning of my make up routine I apply Supergoop Glowscreen to my entire face. Not only is it a great daily sunscreen but it is a highlighting primer for the rest of my make up. If your skin is looking great and/ or you don’t want full face coverage, skip the foundation and go to concealer. If you aren’t skipping, I have just started using Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Foundation. I love it so far but will have a full review soon. I dot some on my nose, cheeks, forehead and chin. Then blend it in with the Artis Oval 7 brush. I concentrate more coverage on around my nose and eyes where I need more. This foundation is buildable but still looks like your skin. It allows me to have a natural everyday make up look while still feeling I have some coverage.
For any areas that need more coverage, I apply the Bare Minerals Bare Pro stick Concealer and blend it in with my fingers or the Artis Oval 7 brush. The areas I typically need coverage are around my nose and under my eyes. I sometimes have a few spots on my chin as well. Then I set my whole face with Bare Minerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder.
Next is probably the most important for me and that is blush.
I have loved Nars blush in Orgasm for years! It has a cult following for a reason. It looks good on so many complexions and looks so natural and pretty. I’ve tried many other colors but always go back to this one.
If I have time and am feeling fancy, I’ll add a little bit of bronzer. You definitely don’t have to do this as part of your everyday make up routine but when I have a moment I find it adds some life to my face. I am not a make up expert so I’ll use a fluffy brush to add some bronzer around my hairline and under my cheekbones.
Eyes
The most time I spend on my eyes is my eyebrows. I always find it time well spent and makes me look and feel instantly prettier. Even when I’m going for a super basic make up routine, I still do this.My goal is a very natural fluffy, but defined brow. I use Bareminerals Brow Master Sculpting Pencil. I first brush my brows with the spoolie, brushing them them up then starting from the middle to the outside I’ll brush the hairs out. Next I use the pencil to start filling in. I start at the inner part and draw little lines like hairs. I don’t go for a full colored in look. Once the inner part is filled in, I work to fill in any other sparse spots while staying within my natural brow shape.
Once my brows are done, curl my lashes! Then I apply the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eyeshadow as a liner. I keep the line thicker on the outside and thinner on the inside. This liner has become one of my favorite make up products. I wrote a whole review on it here. You can also use these sticks as eyeshadow and just blend them with your fingers. It doesn’t need any blending but you can use the Artis Liner 6 brush to smudge it up. I love the colors Cocoa, Amethyst and Copper. Cocoa is my go to for liner!
I’ll then a little bit of highlighter to my browbone. Using my fingers I blend it on my browbone and then finish with mascara. I love this Blinc Mascara for everyday because it doesn’t smudge! It seriously lasts all day and I know won’t end up under my eyes or flaking off.
Lips
Everyone has their own take on what a simple make up routine consists of. Some think that a statement lip color is to much for a basic make up routine. I love some color on my lips so at the least, I’ll swipe on a lipgloss with some color! Somedays, I’ll use a nude liner and add lipstick. I listed some of my favorite colors below.
Some lip colors I’ve been loving lately:
Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic Happikiss in Pillow Talk
Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre Lipgloss in Candy Darling
Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Pillow Talk (with matching liner)
Bare Minerals Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer in Boy Toy
Bare Minerals Bare Pro Longwear Lipstick in Bloom
