I went to Las Vegas for the fourth time this last month. Each time I have gone has been for a celebration and we really do have a great time. Las Vegas is one of those cities that has so many different things to do and is a great destination any time of year. It may be a bit overwhelming to figure out exactly what to pack and what you need. I have put together a list below of everything you need to pack for a great trip to Las Vegas.
Packing List: Las Vegas
Outfits
Day Time
Daytime activities can be everything from shopping to gambling to just walking around the Vegas hotels. Even if you will be spending most of your time inside, you’ll definitely need to dress for the time of year you are in Las Vegas. It has hot Summers and cool Winters.
For day time in the Spring and Summer, it is very important to dress for the heat! Pack comfortable day pieces that will keep you cool. Comfortable shoes are an absolute must. Each Vegas hotel is huge just on it’s own. So whether you walk around your own hotel and walk to another, you will walk a ton!! Pick cute flats or sandals that you know won’t hurt your feet.

Pool Time
Whether you go to a pool party or just hang out at your hotel pool, Vegas pool time requires a look! So many Vegas pools have a DJ’s and are a real party. This is not the time for just a bathing suit and t-shirt as coverup. Besides a cute bathing suit, cover ups are as much an outfit as they are something to wear to get to the pool.
Start off your pool look with a fun and flirty swimsuit. I suggest something bright or a swimsuit with a special detail. Bright colors not only complement most skin tones but also are fun! Other cut options are bathing suits with cut outs, ruffles, or any other crazy patterns. Don’t be afraid to shy away from anything loud or even over the top, it is Vegas!
After you have your bathing suit, it’s time to pick a cover up. And there are almost as many options for cover ups as bathing suits. Shirt dresses worn open or a crochet dress can make for a sexier outfit. A classic cover up like linen or other wide pants look great too.
Don’t be afraid to accessorize your pool look too! Cute shoes are a must but you can also even get away with cute jewelry. The brand Sahira is perfect for this because the jewelry is ok getting wet. You can wear it while you work out or even at the pool. I love this multi chain necklace because it is dainty but makes a statement. This one is really cute too!
Night Time
Night time is the most fun time to dress in Vegas. The evenings are where you can really see what Las Vegas has to offer. There are so many amazing restaurants to have dinner at. It would be hard to find a type of restaurant that isn’t in Las Vegas. For activities there are concerts, shows and night clubs!
The first thing to take into consideration is that many restaurants and clubs have dress codes. Many don’t allow denim or flip flops but check out their actual dress code before you pack. Whatever your activity is, outfits can be as fun and loud as you want. And you don’t have to but I would highly suggest wearing high heels at night. It just makes every outfit a little more special.
For a nice dinner at a dressy restaurant I typically suggest a dress and high heels because you can’t go wrong. If you want something sophisticated, a little black dress (LBD) and chic accessories is always foolproof. In fact if you are there several nights I highly suggest packing a LBD because it will work for almost any evening activity. For something more fun, pack a dress with a chic, bright print.
Other fun options can be a jumpsuit or a cute top and trendy trousers. Crop tops are a huge trend and what better tie to try one then in Vegas, where basically everything goes. If you don’t know how to style a crop cop, check out this post.
Probably the thing we all think of the most for a night in Vegas is sequins! And really, you can’t go wrong with them. If you aren’t wearing sequins in Las Vegas, where are you going to wear them!? It could be a top, accessory or even the whole dress. Vegas is the time to shine, literally.
Night club looks are places you can really take a chance or go a little wild. You can definitely keep it classy while still being sexy. Cut outs and sheer fabrics are big trends to try. They show a little skin but not too much.
Other Items
Extra Phone Charger
Whether you spend the day at the pool, walking around or gabling you’re going to need a back up battery. The last thing you ever want to do is have to go back to your room to charge your phone. Not only can it be a big trek to get back of your room but you then also have to wait for your phone to charge. You’ll lose precious vacation time. This is THE BEST external charger. Every time I use it someone is asks for the link.
Hand Sanitizer
If you gamble you’ll be all over machines, dice and cards that a ton of people have touched. Have some sanitizer with you to help fight all those germs! I guarantee your immune system will thank you.
Light Jacket
I realize a light jacket is a clothing item but I wanted to say it separate to make a point. No matter the time of year, the Vegas hotels and casinos are kept cool! If you are going to gamble or hang out in the hotels have an extra layer to put over your outfits. You may have to take it off while you walk outside but you’ll appreciate it when inside.
Beach Bag/Tote/Backpack
Have a cute tote or beach bag to carry items around with you. Many times you’ll leave in the morning and won’t be back to your room until late afternoon so have a light and easy bag that you can carry around your essentials. If you have everything you can walk around in the morning, maybe do some shopping or grab lunch and then immediately head to the pool.
