While they take some time, my favorite posts are showing how to style an item different ways. In this post I share 4 ideas on how to style a white button down. Now that it is officially Fall, I’ve put together some inspiration on how to style lug boots. To me, the are the same as combat boots. They are not a new boot trend but they’ve become really popular the last couple years. I think part of the rise in popularity is that they are comfortable and lend themselves to both casual and dressy vibes.
For some, you may not be sure how to style lug boots. The thick sole can seem a bit intimidating to style with many items. They actually go with way more items than you may expect. Although they can seem pretty masculine, don’t be intimidated by that. You can counter that by wearing them with more feminine items. In fact, one of the most common ways I see them styled is with girly dresses. Mixing masculine and feminine items creates really interesting outfits!
Like anything you purchase, it is important to be able to integrate it into the wardrobe you already have. Lug boot styling is really endless. Take any of your favorite Fall outfits and add combat boots, and I think you’ll see how much you can wear them with.

In the pic above, I show all the outfits with heeled lug boots, but you can just as easily wear these outfits with flat boots. Either style lends themselves to both dressy and casual outfits. If you are only buying one pair, I would suggest thinking about what works better for what your closet. I have both flat and heeled ones. I wear the heeled ones more just because they do elevate a look. I am typically looking for ways to make things a bit dressier, even if it just jeans and a flannel. Flat ones can do the opposite, they can dress down some of your nicer items. I especially love them with a dress of leather leggings.
