How to Wear a Button Down 4 Ways

There are many reasons to love a clothing item and one of the top ones for me is when something is versatile. I love items that can be worn to work, casually and everything in between. That is why I particularly love doing these 4 ways posts. I have so much fun creating outfits and coming up with new and different ways to wear an item. For this post, I am sharing white button down outfits.

We probably all first think of a white button down as something you wear with a suit or dress pants. And for many of us, that may be the only reason we have purchased one. So I didn’t put that look in the 4 I put together below.

Beyond being dressy or casual, a white button down lends itself to so many different types of styles. While it may seem like just a classic item, it also lends itself to sportier or trendy looks. I think my favorite outfit is the one with the bike shorts. Wear the button down open over the tank and shorts. This outfit base is just asking for some cute accessories. I love the pop of color the shoes and scrunchies add. It’s fashionably while still being comfortable and sporty. A great outfit for running errands or even travel.

White button downs really lend themselves to layering. The layer not only adds interest, but it can make an outfit or piece ready for cooler weather. Sleeveless dresses and shirts are now options outside of Spring and Summer when you layer the shirt under them.
