The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale can be a great sale for your wardrobe if you shop it right. I’m sharing my strategy below for how I shop.. I have some tips for smart shopping and not over buying or purchasing for the sake of it. You can preview the sale here.
It is different than other sales because it is new items. For a limited time Nordstrom discounts current and new pre-Fall items. It’s not like most other department store sales when you have to wait for the end of the season to get items on sale. Once the sale is over they go back up to full price. With the scorching temperatures, it may feel a little too early to shop some of the Fall items. But if you know you will need boots, jacket etc in a few months you may be able to find the perfect item for a great price!
This post will be my one post for the Sale. You can preview most of the items on sale here and I have picked some of my favorite items below. Bookmark this post to come back to when you can shop. As always, I never want anyone to feel like they have to shop or buy something. Also, If you have a Nordstrom’s credit or debit card you will get access to the sale as the pic below shows.
How I Shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
How I Decide What to Shop for
Big sales can be a bit overwhelming. I’ve put together a few things to consider below to help you consider how to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary sale.
1. Assess your Wardobe
Assess what you need or want to add to your wardrobe. Are there items that need to be replaced? Do you need more of any certain items? Was there something last year you were looking for but couldn’t find?
2. Make a List
After looking thru your wardrobe decide what you need to stock up on for the Fall. Do you need more denim? Do you want any new boots or booties? Did you wish you had purchased more sweaters last Fall? What do you wear the most of for fall? Have you been wanting to invest in a designer purse? Use these questions to come up with what types of items you are searching for. The sale can be overwhelming so narrowing down a list can be helpful.
3. Budget
It’s not my favorite word but is very important for this sale. Decide how much you are willing to spend on each item on your list. The 50% off can tempt you to spend more than you mean, so know your budget beforehand.
4. Consider the item
Now that you know what you want/need really assess the items you’ve found. Do they meet the needs you have? Are they the right color/shape? I also make sure that the sale % off is a good deal. Sometimes it is easy to get wrapped up in the fact that an item is on sale. Would you pay full price for the item? Many times just asking myself that tells me everything I need to know.
5. Consider a splurge item
This may seem to go against tip #3. Not many times can you find designer items up to 50% off. If you have wanted a designer purse, denim or coat this would be the time to do it. But really make sure the item is exactly what you want because even when on sale these items can still be expensive.
