I like to have a go-to daily makeup routine that I know works. I can depend on it to look put together, polished and to feel my best. It is great to not have to think about what to do everyday and just rely on this look. While I love trying out new products I’ve also found some dependable makeup products that I depend on. In today’s post, I’m sharing my go-to everyday makeup routine.
Daily Makeup Routine
Skin
After I do my morning skincare routine, I apply Supergoop Glowscreen. It is a primer and has spf 40 so it is two steps in one. (See full review here) After letting it soak in for a minute I start with my foundation. I like a foundation that provides moisture and gives a glow while being medium coverage. I apply one pump of this Charlotte Tilburry’s Beautiful Skin foundation. It has beautiful medium coverage and is great for dry skin (other great foundations here). Then I use this Bare Minerals concealer under my eyes and anywhere else that needs more coverage. Most of the time that is around my nose and sometimes on my chin.
I set my foundation with Bare Minerals Mineral Veil using a big fluffy brush. Then I add some bronzer to create some warmth and depth. I keep it light and add it around my hairline and along the hollows of my cheeks with a little on my nose. Then I finish off with blush and this one is the best! I like to use a blush brush to apply like this one. It truly brings so much light to your face and makes you look awake and healthy.
Eyes
On a daily basis, I don’t wear a lot of eye makeup but have some favorite makeup products. I start with taking care of my brows. I use this brow pencil to comb my brows into place. Then I use the pencil side to fill in my brows where they are a little sparse. I make small little hair-like strokes to create the most natural looking brow.
When I’m doing face make up I’ll make sure to put some of my setting power on my eyes to even out my eyelids. I like to use Laura Mercier Caviar eye sticks as eyeliner. I use the side of the stick and glide it along my lashline. I’ll then smudge it a bit either with my finger or an eyeshadow brush blending from the lashline up a little.
If I’m not wearing my Wink Clique lashes then I’ll curl my lashes and apply two coats of this Blinc mascara. This tubing mascara doesn’t smudge or come off thru the day, even if you work out!
Highlight
One of my last steps is highlighter. There are so many different ones but for every day, I prefer a powder highlighter. I love this ColourPop version and haven’t found anything better for the price! Use a fluffy eyeshadow brush to apply so it looks natural. I apply a little bit along my brow bone and in the inner corners of my eyes. I want just a little bit to really make my eyes pop. A cream or liquid highlighter would work great too. I would just apply then with your hands or a beauty blender.
I also like to add a subtle highlight to my cheekbones. For every day, I keep it really simple and just put a tiny bit along the top of my cheekbones still using the fluffy eyeshadow brush to apply. For a special event or nighttime, I’ll really play this up and layer it on.
Lips
If you’ve read Everyday K for long, you’ll know my love for lip color! It is 100% my favorite makeup product. I like bright colors and think they compliment me best. Up until now, my entire makeup look is pretty natural and subdued so I find I can do a statement lip without it being too much for every day!
During my morning skincare routine, I apply a little bit of vaseline to my lips. Once I’m ready to apply lip color I wipe off any of the vaseline that hasn’t soaked in. I start with this lip liner in the color Pillow Talk because it is a great natural color but also layers well with any lipstick or glosses I want to wear. I typically go for a red (these are my fav) because it is just my favorite! And when the rest of your makeup is subtle, it can work for every day!
If I want a matte finish lip these Mac lipsticks or these Bare Mineral lip colors are the ones I pick. My most natural lip look is Charlotte Tillbury lipstick in Pillowtalk.
Here are other great formulas I love.
