Traveling, while fun, can be stressful and exhausting. There are a few things that can help make the whole experience better. One of them is the right luggage. Great luggage helps not only with packing but won’t hinder you in getting around and staying organized. I have several pieces of Away Luggage that I have used for years. In today’s post I am sharing my review on Away luggage and what pieces I have.

Is Away Luggage Worth It?

If you travel even just a few times a year, quality luggage can make such a difference. I have several pieces of away luggage including two suitcases. After just one trip with them, I knew the away luggage was wroth it. They have been tested thru some long and difficult trip. I’ve had the Bigger Carry On for over 5 years and it works just as great as when I got it. While all of Away’s products are an investment I have found that you get even more than what you pay for. Below are all the reasons I love my away pieces.

Durability

All of the suitcases have a hard durable shell. It is also slightly flexible and super light. The flexibility helps it to not crack or break too. It can take a lot of wear and tear. Some scuffs are inevitable but many can be buffed out with a cloth. The wheels can handle not only the airport floor but tougher terrain. I have taken mine on cobblestones and city streets and they still glide like the day I got them. The handle also is strong while being light! Some luggage can have issues with the handle bending or denting which makes it harder to push in and pull out of the luggage. You can depend on Away luggage to last!

Packability

Away luggage is designed to use the entire suitcase as efficient as possible. The thin shells helps to provide as much space as possible. The suitcases zip at the middle so when they open you have to shells to pack. One side has a mesh zip top that helps to keep everything organized when you open and close it. Features

There are a lot of extra great features to Away luggage. They come in many colors so you can get one that fits your style. That also helps to differentiate yours luggage from anyone else’s luggage. Each suitcase has a hidden laundry bag. It is rolled up and tucked in a small bag but you can use it to separate your dirty and clean clothes while you travel and on your way home. I mentioned how durable the wheels are but beyond that they are 360 degree glide! This feature makes all of the suitcases so easy to maneuver and pull no matter how heavy they are.

Warranty

While all of the away luggage items are very durable, things can still happen that break them. Away’s warranty can be checked out here but it basically covers all major functional issues. After 4+ years my Larger Suitcase cracked by the bottom on my last trip. It happened at some point while the airline was handling it after I checked it. What was so great is working with Away to get a new one. I emailed customer service and they very quickly had replied. The customer service agent had already ordered my replacement, which came in a few short days, and then I used that packaging to return the broken one. And all of that was at no cost to me! I am a big fan of great customer service!

Which Away Bag is the Right Fit?

Bigger Carry On

The Bigger Carry On was my first Away purchase. I travel with a carry on most of the time so I knew this would be the most used piece for me. The Bigger Carryon is the largest luggage size that still can be a carry on for most flights. Double check the size against the airlines you fly most just to make sure. This bag can really pack alot of items. I definitely lean towards carrying on my luggage when I fly instead of checking. It saves time and I never have the stress of lost or delayed luggage. While it takes some planning, I have taken this Bigger Carry On on three 10-14 day trips to Europe. I use the Everywhere Bag as my personal item that holds my toiletries and then my shoes and clothes go in this carry on.

The Large Bag

I will admit that sometimes a carry on won’t cut it. For these times, I purchased Away’s Large Bag. It has all the great functions and features as the other luggage but is just much bigger. The crazy thing is that it still isn’t that heavy. Even when it is completely full, I don’t have trouble pushing it around because the wheels make it really easy. For times that you have to pack large or bulky items, or are packing for a few people, this Large Bag is a perfection suitcase.

The Everywhere Bag

Not only is a great suitcase important but a great bag is helpful too. Away’s Everywhere Bag holds more than it looks. It comes in several sizes but I have the original. For times that I carry on all of my luggage, I use this as my personal item. It has a laptop pocket and several other pockets to keep you organized. The main compartment can hold a lot! What I love the most about the Everywhere Bag is trolley sleeve. This fits right on the handle of your luggage so the bag fits perfectly on and won’t fall off.

Even if you don’t carry everything on, this bag is great for travel. If you are someone that travels with your laptop this is a great bag because it holds more than just the computer!
