As the weather warms up, I am always excited to add a few new pieces to my wardrobe. I love finding aa few trends to incorporate. In today’s post I have put together a few of the top Spring trends I have been gravitating towards and how I will be styling each.
Spring Trends
Trench Coat
While a trench coat is nothing new for Spring, it is definitely exceptionally popular this season. A trench is particularly great for transitional outfits. It is a light layer that adds the warmth you need for the colder Spring days. They also make pull an outfit together no matter what it is. A sweat set and tennis shoes looks polished with a trench coat. Dresses and other favorite Spring pieces also work with a trench.
The most in style trenches are a bit more relaxed. They can be oversized or just a softer material that lays well and isn’t too stiff. Also, look for something that is below knee length. Just like this Winter, coats and jackets should either be cropped or below knee length.
Crochet Pieces
Whether it is the relaxed vibe or the neutral color palette, I have really gravitated towards crochet pieces. Lots of tops, dresses and even bags. They are perfect for a warm weather vacation but they can also work in your day to day wardrobe. To make this trend easier to incorporate into your style, go for pieces that you already wear but just in a crochet fabric. Do you like tank tops, wear a crochet one. Are maxi dresses your thing? Wear a crochet one this Spring and Summer.
Spring Jackets
There are two jacket styles that I am loving for this Spring. The first is a tweed jacket. I love the Chanel inspired look. Tweed is typically more of a preppy or classic look but how it is styled can change everything. I’m loving them with edgier or more casual pieces. Leather pants and graphic t-shirts can break up the tweed and have a cooler edge. I also love them with frayed denim and a t-shirt.
An oversized denim jacket is another one on my list. This is on the other end of the spectrum from the tweed jacket. This style can replace the classic denim jacket that we have all been wearing for years. Balance the oversized jacket with more fitted items to give the outfit interest.
Ballet Flats
Ballet flats are back and I couldn’t be more excited. Just like any other trend, you can style it to fit you. I love mixing these up with everything! For something sweet, stick to a dress or skirt. If you want something more unexpected, think straight leg jeans or cargo pants. Honestly the options are pretty endless.
Invest in good quality here. Any flimsy leather or poor construction will be really obvious with a simple shoe like this.
