One of their best products is the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. It is a product that is perfect for the first step in a double cleanse. In today’s post I am sharing my Elemis Cleansing Balm Review including my experience with it.
A Complete Elemis Cleansing Balm Review
The Elemis Cleansing Balm is a thick balm cleanser. It takes off makeup while still being gentle on your skin. This balm is different than many others because if its quality ingredients. It has both elderberry oil grape seed oil which are key to keeping skin healthy. Another unique ingredient is Padina Pavonica which supports the feeling of hydration. It is a cleanser that is best for the first step in a double cleanse.
How to Use Elemis Cleansing Balm
Step 1 – Apply Elemis Cleansing Balm to Dry Skin
Only a small amount of the balm is needed. Warm it up in your hands and then apply it to dry skin. Work the product in to your face and neck in circular motions. Focus on areas that have the most makeup or are more congested. The oils in the balm are an amazing makeup remover. And just because it has oil in it doesn’t mean it will clog your pores.
Step 2 – Moisten Fingers and Work in
Once the cleansing balm has been worked in dry, moisten fingers and continue to work it in. The water and oil mix together to continue to cleanse.
Step 3 – Wipe Away with a Warm Damp Cloth
Using some warm water, dampen a cloth to wipe away the balm. It will take with it all of the makeup, dirt and impurities from your skin. If you want you can also rinse with a little warm water as well.
Is Elemis Cleansing Balm Worth It
I have been using the Pro-Collagen Cleansing balm for a few years and it is one of the few skincare products I always use. I included it in this list of Beauty Splurge Must Haves. While it isn’t cheap I really believe it is worth it! You only need a very small amount so the jar actually lasts a long time. It also has so many benefits and is enjoyable to use. I actually look forward to the smell and how it feels on my skin. My skin feels well moisturized, softer and glowy after I use it. Even if you don’t double cleanse it is a great cleanser to use in your routine.
When you use it the first time, the first think you will notice is the smell. It smells like a spa and that alone makes the cleansing experience so good! If you don’t want that smell there is an unscented version and a rose version but I personally love the original scent.
When applied the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm feels soft and immediately moisturizes your skin. The oils in the balm really melt away any makeup you are wearing with very little effort. This makes it so gentle on your face because it doesn’t require any rubbing. It never leaves your skin feeling dry or tight. The Cleansing Balm is the best makeup remover I have ever used! It even works on waterproof mascara.
When I have especially dry skin I will apply the balm and keep it on for a few minutes to let the elderberry and grape seed oils in the balm really moisturize my skin. Even if you have oily skin, I would still recommend this balm. It won’t make your skin any oilier but will help balance it.
Cleansing oils have similar benefits to a balm but the Elemis balm is an easier product to use. Because a balm is thicker than an oil it is much easier to apply and let sit on your skin.
