A really great heel can elevate any look. They not only add style to any outfit but can make your legs appear longer. As the weather heats up I like to transition from pumps to heeled sandals (see other Spring transition tips here). They make any outfit feel more warm-weather appropriate and there are so many styles to choose from. While heeled sandals are one of my favorite shoes, it is important to find the right pair. An uncomfortable or ill-fitting pair can leave your feet swollen and cause lots of pain. You may think that you should just choose lower heel height to be more comfortable but that is not always the case! In this post, I am sharing some of the most comfortable heeled sandals of the season, what makes them so comfy, and how to style them.
Comfortable Heeled Sandals
Loeffler Randal Penny Pleated Bow Sandal
The Penny sandals are my must have heeled sandals for Spring and Summer! I have loved them for a few years but just this season decided to purchase them. Get ready to see them in a lot of outfit posts and pics for the next few seasons!
While they are a 3.5 inch heel, they are very comfortable! The round block heel is supportive and stable and the strap supports your foot but doesn’t dig in and I can wear them all day. What I really love is the gold lame pleated fabric. It has a pretty texture and shine. While the gold color makes a statement, it can be treated as neutral. These heeled sandals go with so many Spring and Summer looks: jeans, shorts, linen, dress pants, dresses and skirts. Now that I have them I think they are even more versatile.
If you need a shorter heel, Loeffler Randal has the same look at 4 different options. Below are the different height options and different colors!
Vince Camuto Semtera Woven-Strap Sandal
I took me a bit to warm up to a shorter heel. I typically want a 3″ or flats. But once I paired these with jeans and slacks, I realized a shorter heel height can be chic too. What’s even better is that it is easy to wear them all day. While they come in several colors, I think everyone needs a comfortable black sandal in their closet.
These heels look best with straight-leg or skinny pants and jeans that hit at the ankle. They show off the shoe and keep the outfit proportionate. They are great summer shoe if you have a business casual dress code. They’ll make work slacks feel more seasonal. They also lend themselves to casual looks. I find myself wearing them with jeans and a plain white t-shirt the most.
Sarah Flint Perfect Block Sandal 90
If you want to talk about comfortable shoes, Sarah Flint needs to be the top of the conversation. Each style is carefully designed for comfort and style. One style I absolutely love is the Block Sandal. It comes in many heights but I really love the 90. This 3.5 inch sandal is stunning and you’ll honestly have it in your closet for years!
Sarah Flint has so many features that make their shoes comfortable. There is extra padding on the footbed that provides a cushion for your feet. And the arch support follows the natural curve of your arch. The brand uses some of the highest quality leather so its soft and supple. This pair has an inset block heel. So you have the comfort and stability of a block heel without the weight.
This is the only pair of heeled sandals you need for Spring and Summer events. The heels will look gorgeous with all of your summer dresses. Since they are so comfortable they are the perfect shoe for a wedding when you’ll be on your feet and dancing all night.
Sarah Flint Perfect Sandal 100
If stilettos are more your style, Sarah Flint still has a pair for you. Like her other heels, the Perfect Sandal comes in several heel heights but there is just something about the 100 that I can’t stop looking at. The 4 inch heel is just a sexy shoe. They scream date night or fancy evening. I also love a sexy shoe like this juxtaposed to a pair of distressed jeans and a simple top.
Just like they pair above these sandals have extra padding and arch support. The stiletto heel is a steel rod so it is extra secure. No worries about it wobbling or breaking. This pair is durable!
Dolce Vita Paily Slide Sandal
Braided straps are a big trend this season. I especially love them on heeled sandals. These Dolce Vita sandals not only hit the trend but are comfortable as well. A block heel is always easier to walk in and more comfortable than others. The chunky straps are fitted without being tight so they will feel comfortable as well.
This is really the do it all heeled sandal. It comes in over a dozen colors so you can pick a neutral or statement color. Honestly, style this with everything! Love this as a heel to pair with shorts for dressy moments or date night etc.
Steve Madden Kenley Sandal
This Kenley heeled sandal is the sexy night-out version of the one above. It is a 4.5 inch heel so it makes a statement. While these probably aren’t the heels you turn to wear them all day. they are comfortable for such a high heel. The padding straps will support and not rub on your feet.
These are the heels you grab when you want to make a statement. Wear them with your nice dresses for weddings or other events. For an evening out with the girls or a date night, I love them with shorts or jeans and a cute blouse. Definitely not a daytime pair but super sexy for nighttime.
Jimmy Choo Amara Embellished Slide Sandal
Out of the different designer brands I’ve tried, Jimmy Choo always seems to be the most comfortable! These embellished pearl sandals are stunning and really asking to be the focal point of an outfit. These are sophisticated enough to work for work too! They would look just as cute with your dress slacks as they work with your after-work attire. To really show off the heel, I would suggest wearing them with a pant that isn’t longer than your ankles.
This block heel makes the sandals super wearable and walkable. Thin straps can be one of the biggest contributors to discomfort. To avoid that, a good fit and quality materials are important. Jimmy Choo always uses great quality leather which is soft, supple and forms to your foot.
Sam Edelman Yaro Ankle Strap Sandal
This pair of heels is the reliable, neutral piece your closet needs. They are beautiful but don’t make a statement. The ankle strap heeled sandal lets the rest of your outfit shine. If you wear them with a dress or skirt, the nude color will make your legs look longer.
While there really isn’t anything these shoes can’t go with, I think they look especially cute with a-line items! The shoes’ simple and neutral heel blend and contrast with pretty a-line skirts and dresses. I also love the height and refinement they bring to a look when I wear something flowy or oversized.
Loeffler Randall Pleated Platform Sandal
Platforms are back in a big way! This 90’s and early 2000s trend has come back but with a bit of a modern twist. What is great about platforms is that you get height and lift without feeling like they are as high as they are. This pair in particular, is a 4.5 inch heel but the platform will prevent you from feeling that tall. The footbed is also patted for extra cushion.
These platform heeled sandals are meant to stand out and make a big statement! Like, let them do the talking kind of statement. There are two ways to style them. The first would be to pair with neutral more simple pieces to really let them shine. A little black dress would be taken to the next level with these platforms. Or you can go the complete opposite and style the shoes with something colorful! The key is pieces that are just as rich and saturated as the shoes. Pastels won’t work but a rich beautiful jewel tone in solids or a pattern isn’t too much.
Dolce Vita Noles City Slide Sandal
It really can be the most simple pieces that are the chicest. With it’s two thin straps this heel has a barely-there look. The block is cylinder-shaped and has embossed leather for a fun little detail. If you like a bit more of a statement, there are a few color options beyond neutral colors.
A barely-there heel is a shoe for many great spring and summer outfits. These heels look great with ankle-length pants but also work with a longer or wider leg. This season-wide leg and “mom” jeans are a really big trend. They can be hard to find the right shoe to pair with but these work well and don’t feel too heavy.
Loeffler Randal Fae Natural Platform Heel
The natural platform heel has dressed-up espadrille vibes. The raffia material is perfect for lots of Spring and Summer outfits. The 1 inch platform makes the 4.5 inch heel easier to walk in. The padded footbed and puffy braided strap also help make the heeled sandal comfortable. The feminine details on the platform heel lend itself to working best with Summer dresses and skirts. To offset the chunkiness of the shoe, I would style them with items that are fitted and not oversized.
Saks Fifth Avenue Leather Knot Mule
It couldn’t be more obvious than these heeled sandals that the 90’s are back in full force! The knotted heel in bright fluorescent colors is everything we love about that decade. The 2.75 inch heel is very walkable and the soft leather is comfortable enough to wear all day.
To keep the look current, I love these bright heels with a more neutral outfit. An easy but chic outfit is to pair them with fitted or straight-leg pants and a pretty blouse. The heels can also work for a business casual environment. Start with dark, dressy denim and then top with a blazer!
Veronica Beard Avita Suede Strappy Sandals
These Veronica Beard sandals are the perfect version of the strappy sandal trend! They are another pair of sexy heeled sandals. While being neutral they still make quite a statement. As far as comfort goes, these heels have soft straps and a cushioned toe bed. So when you need to wear some sky-high heels, these are it!
These heeled sandals definitely lend themselves to a dressed-up outfit. Dresses, skirts and jumpsuits will all look great with this pair. Like a few other pairs in this post, these heels will look really good with denim as well. The thin heel and sexy straps will offset any wide-leg or straight-leg jeans.
Sam Edelman Marlena Ruched Slingback Sandal
Ruching has made it to our shoes! I love the scrunched straps on this pair and how they make these sandals unique from most that I’ve seen come out this year. The square base of the heel makes them more stable and easier to walk in. It also helps with comfort. While the straps are fitted enough to hold your foot in, they are also really comfortable on your skin.
These heeled sandals will work best with pants that cut at the ankle or above. The back strap will be bulky on any pants that fall on them. The unique details are versatile in that you could make these work for both daytime or night. With a more casual day outfit, they’ll sway more casual. If you pair them with dressier pieces they’ll work perfectly for the night.
See by Chloe Glyn Espadrilles
I’ve said before in this post that platforms are really back. The trend can really elevate a simple sandal. These platforms give height but they won’t feel like heels at all. The foam core gives a bit of cushion for comfort. The thick ankle strap is soft and comfortable enough for lots of walking.
I love these espadrilles styled with jean shorts! They can add style to even the most basic Summer outfits!
