Let’s Talk Exfoliation: Kate Somerville Exfolikate Review

Skincare is such a broad subject and can be a little daunting to know where to start. I am no expert, but I’ve learned a few things thru the years. I love reading new articles and trying out  products. One part that is very important to even a basic skincare routine is exfoliation. Exfoliation is the removal of the outermost layer of dead skin cells. There are so many benefits and one of the biggest ones is how it helps your other products work better. I’ve talked about other exfoliating products in this post but I’ve been using a new one for the past few months.

There are also two types of exfoliators: physical and chemical. Physical exfoliators contain something in them that physically scrubs your skin, like beads or granules. Also a pad or scrubber can work as well. Chemical exfoliants use acid or enzymes to dissolve the skin surface cells. 

Which one is better? Actually a mix of both will get you the best results! 

My Exfolikate Review

I’ve been told to try Kate Sommerville’s Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment for awhile. I finally bought it a few months ago and have been using it once a week. It is one of the best exfoliators I’ve ever used! Without it being too harsh, it left my skin smoother than other exfoliators. It also has both physical and chemical exfoliants. I didn’t have any irritation or redness afterwards. There is a slight tingle while it is on your skin, but I liked the feeling.

How to Use Exfolikate

How To:
1. Wash face with your favorite cleanser.
2. Pat dry.
3. Apply Exfolikate all over your face and work it in for 30 seconds.
4. Let sit for about 2 minutes.
5. Rinse off
6. Continue with the rest of your skin care routine.

One of my favorite benefits of Exfolikate is how I don’t have to use it as often as other exfoliating products. I used it twice week for about a month and now I use it around once a week.
