This May marked a full decade living in Oklahoma City and I realized I haven’t shared a guide or my favorite places in this city. This city has so much to offer and it is such a fun place to live or visit. In the next couple months I plan to share several posts with my favorite restaurants, activities and things to do in OKC. I’m going to start with my Top OKC brunch spots!
One of my favorite things to do with friends is to have brunch. Whether it is a Saturday or Sunday brunch, a long leisurely one with a couple mimosas is the best way to spend the weekend. OKC has a plethora of options for brunch from classic breakfast comfort food to a fancy Sunday brunch.
My Favorite Brunch Spots
Aurora – Located in the Plaza, Aurora is only open for breakfast and lunch so you know their brunch has to be good. Their focus is local ingredients so everything is always seasonal and super fresh. It’s a pretty casual vibe with great coffee. If it’s nice out you can enjoy their “backyard” area where you can have your meal outside or play some of their games.
Bradford House – Bradford House may be the most instagrammable place for Brunch. It is a boutique hotel with a beautiful restaurant and bar. The interior is gorgeous with plush couches and booths in vibrant colors. They also have an amazing wrap around porch where you can dine or just relax and have a drink. While they are also open for dinner, I highly recommend their brunch. They have a great menu that changes a bit seasonally. Bradford house has some of the most delicious breakfast pastries. Definitely don’t miss their ordering something from their coffee bar and amazing bakery!
The Jones Assembly – The Jones Assembly is on my must see list for anyone visiting OKC. Located on Film Row, it is much more than just a restaurant, its also a concert venue and a great place to just have a drink or watch a Thunder or college football game. Honestly, it is one my favorites because the vibe is my favorite! It’s a great place to take a group but I do recommend a reservation if you take a group.
As far as brunch goes, their menu really can’t be beat! I recommend the flat tire pizza or the brioche French toast. Their drink menu changes seasonally and they’re known for their frose (frozen rose). If you need some caffeine I love their Jones Iced coffee (I substitute almond milk for the creamer). Throughout the year they host some themed Sunday brunches that take brunch to a new level.
Oso Paseo – For a mexican/street taco twist on brunch, Oso Paseo is always high on my list. The Paseo area is always a great area to visit and walk around. I love Oso’s pateo. The decor and styling of the patio and restuarant feels like you are in a different country. It is seriously so cute! Definitely get the chips and salsa as an app and all of their margaritas are so good!
Cafe Kacao – One of (if not THE MOST) popular brunch spot in OKC is Cafe Kacao. There is always a line and wait on the weekends but the Latin American cuisine is worth way more than the wait. Everything on the menu will blow you away but I love the Chilaquiles Adobados. And their coffee and coffee drinks also have a Latin American twist and are out of this world!
Dressy OKC Brunch Spots
Bellinis – An OKC institution, Bellinis is the place for a classic white table cloth brunch. Nice, without feeling stuffy or too expensive, Bellinis is a beautiful restaurant. I personally think it’s a beautiful place to celebrate a birthday, engagement, new baby etc. The staff is always so kind and really takes care of you. Dining here is always a wonderful experience. While they have many amazing classic breakfast items their eggs benedict or crab cakes benedict are amazing!
Cheever’s Cafe – Another must visit restaurant in Oklahoma City is Cheever’s. The Victorian building is part of OKC history and much of the property is the same as when it was built. The restaurant is beautiful and cozy with the tables set up in several different rooms. Ask any local and they will all have their favorite item from the menu but for brunch I recommend the shrimp and grits or cowgirl benedict. They have the perfect mix of delicious items and comfort food.
Casual OKC Brunch Spots
Hatch Early Mood Food – Hatch is always packed but once you try it, you’ll no why! There are currently multiple locations in OKC. It has one of the biggest brunch menus I’ve seen so there is something for everyone. They have all the great classic breakfast items and eggs benedict plus a few specialties. What is nice about Hatch is the casual atmosphere. You can come after a workout or dressed up for a fun brunch and won’t stick out either way. You absolutely have to order the Loaded Tumblers, they are my favorite thing and I get them every time!
Neighborhood Jam – Another casual but fun brunch spot is Neighborhood Jam. There also have multiple locations in the metro and all have really fun, bright vibes. It is a really family friend place and a great menu to match. If you love mimosas, I highly recommend the flight because you can pick 4 different juices to go with your bubbles! If you love a classic breakfast make sure you get a biscuit.
Sunnyside Diner – If you want classic breakfast items in a super casual atmosphere visiting one of Sunnyside Diner’s multiple locations is a must. They have all the delicious breakfast items you could want. It is the kind of place where you can get some great comfort food. They also have some seasonal items and a few types of eggs benedict.
