I love talking about skincare, I have plenty of posts on it. I try to apply a face mask at least once a week. I change up which ones I use based on my skin concern at the moment. Below are some of my top face masks that I rely on. They all help with different concerns. Some are for breakouts, some work to add moisture and others exfoliate or detox my skin.
The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
This product is kind of a mask/peel hybrid that is great at exfoliating your skin. The red color makes it look a lot scarier than it is. This peel is a chemical exfoliant which means it exfoliates without actually physically scrubbing your skin. After a 10 min application my skin is smoother and softer. It helps decongest your skin and over the long run can help with textural issues. The acids are pretty strong so it is important to use it per the instructions, I have a full length post on it here.
MALIN+GOETZ Detox Face Mask
This mask gives you instant gratification. It is a gentle detox mask that opens up pores and detoxes your skin while leaving it moisturized. I love to apply this one when I want my make up to look If you haven’t tried a bubbling mask before, you are in for a treat. I promise that isn’t the only reason this detox face mask is one of my top face masks.
Beauty Counter Counter + Charcoal Facial Mask
There are many different charcoal masks but this is the best one that I can find. It quickly detoxifies your skin. It also helps to dry up any excess oil without drying out your skin. It is gentle enough to be used once a week without being too harsh on your skin. For me, it is a top face mask to keep my skin in check when I’ve sweat a lot or been outside a bunch.
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask
In need of moisture? This mask calms, hydrates and moisturizes your skin. The best part is that you don’t have to wash it off if you don’t want to. I love to use this when I travel, it is especially helpful at combatting dry airplane air. It is comforting and calming mask that really soothes the skin. I have even slept in it all night when I am really in need of a moisture injection! You can use this one several times a week if needed. I’m not the only one that loves it, it always seems to be on lists for top moisturizing face masks.
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque
A mask for acne and break outs is something almost everyone can use. For those with frequent break outs you could probably use this Salicylic acid mask once a week or every other week. Just monitor your skin so you don’t dry it out too much. If you only get break outs every once in a while I would use it at the first sign of a break out. Another tip is if your skin is already pretty dry, use the mask only where you break out. I focus on my chin and around my mouth.
Years ago I discovered a mask that was perfect for when I had a break out. It dried up my break outs without drying out all of my skin. That mask is now not made anymore so I have been searching for a new one since then. I think I found it with this mask!
